In just 5 hours’ time, you will see the beautiful magnificence of Khumbu unfolding which you will enjoy from the comfort of your metal cabin. Our Everest Base Camp helicopter tour will offer you every detail: the majestic white currents of Dudh Koshi, the legendary foot trails of the climbers, the astoundingly gorgeous Sherpa settlements and their monasteries, and above all the highest snowy ridges of the Khumbu mammoths.

Additionally, you will not only fly but our Everest base camp helicopter tour will also land you at the iconic flat plateau of Kala Patthar, 5644 m, and at the tallest Japanese-built and styled red Everest View Hotel, 3880 m along with Lukla and Pheriche.

Thus, our Everest Base Camp helicopter tour with landing is perfect for those who have very little time in Nepal but desire to see what Nepal truly stands for.

It is also a great choice for families who want to take their children to higher realms without putting them through too much strain. Our Everest Base camp helicopter tour is also designed for older adults who may not be able to trek and also for guests who have limited mobility.

Important Note

If our group is smaller (one or two passengers), Pheriche landing is not needed. In case of 5 or more passengers, our group will be split to balance the weight in heli.

It is necessary as the heli’s weight-carrying ability will diminish once starts to fly above 4000 m. One group will wait for their turn at Pheriche while the other will advance ahead with the expedition.

Trip Information - Good to Know

Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tour: Best Season

Our Mt. Everest Base Camp helicopter tour can be taken at any time in any season of Nepal. But understand that the thick fog in the winter of December, January, and February can delay morning departures of the heli while the monsoon rain time in June, July, and August can often push your heli flights back by a day or so.

So, to avoid weather-related issues, it is best that you plan your Everest Base Camp helicopter tour in the spring of March, April, and May and autumn in September, October, and November.

With the breathtaking thrilling landing, you will get to see the marvelous Khumbu terrain and the clearest Himalayas below.

Mt. Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tour Difficulty and Suitability

There is no other simplest way to reach Everest than the Everest Base camp helicopter tour with landing. To list its benefits, this tour is only 5 hours long max with no demanding hikes and uncomfortable lodging experience.

Thus, our Mt. Everest Base camp helicopter tour welcomes normal tourists to adventurer explorers between 5 to 80 years old.

Who shouldn’t come to our Everest Base Camp Helicopter tour?

If you are afraid of very high heights, if you have breathing anomalies due to bronchitis and asthma, and if you feel scared to fly and are claustrophobic and simply cannot imagine yourself in confined space, then please seriously consider before undertaking our Everest Base Camp helicopter tour with landing.

Safety Considerations

Himalayan Hope Treks is very concerned about the safety and security of each of its passengers. With this aim in mind, we always ensure that the helicopter in operation is always safe, updated, thoroughly checked, comfortable, modern, and capable of enduring high-altitude atmospheric pressure.

Also, the heli ride will proceed only after ensuring the climate is 100 percent clear and safe to fly. As for the pilots, they are the experts for landing and taking off not only from Lukla but also from Kala Patthar.

Also, to make each of our passengers of the safety, comprehensive clear guidelines will also be explained before each take-off.

Altitude Sickness/Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) and Acclimatization

The odds of getting altitude sickness in our Everest Base Camp helicopter tour are very rare but not entirely zero. A quick shift in the elevation in an hour or so often makes your body struggle to adapt to the high and new air.

So we urge you to drink and carry a water bottle and keep drinking before and during the tour. Before the heli ride commences, take Diamox tablets after breakfast so you will only have an excellent experience without any physical hardships.

Generally, our passengers had felt sharp headaches for a while, and very rarely had they felt a little discomfort in breathing once flying over 3000 m. In such a case, the oxygen mask in the heli will ease you.

Permits for the Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tour with Landing

As for any Everest trekking adventure and tours, the local municipality permit for the Khumbu region and the national park permits for the Sagarmatha are prerequisites for the Everest Base Camp helicopter tour.

The difference is these fees of 3000 NPR (park permit) and 2000 NPR (Khumbu Permit) will be collected by respective government officials at Everest View Hotel.

Since the payment is made on the location, you will make it yourself while our guide will assist you.

Travel Insurance

Everest Base camp helicopter tour with landing does need travel insurance that will cover your expenditures for medical emergencies, and heli rescues other than tours should they occur in the trip. Also, to make your travel-related finances secure, we also advise you to get the coverage in your policy for the delays and cancellations of the tour or the flights.
